Hey!
So after some hardware preparations and arrival of the last och the needed equipment it was time to get going with the speed testing of the old and new slingshot rubber bands. In order to get some statistically acceptable results a thorough testing plan was made. Two samples of each band type was to be tested over a series of eight trials where the initial speed of the ball was measured. The whole procedure was to be completed for two different sizes of steel balls as well as the arrow. A spreadsheet was created to keep track of the measured data. The testing went very well, the mechanical release and the fixtures made the results very consistent. We also got very interesting data which we think can result in some new band configurations in the future. Stay tuned for a more detailed preview of the analyzed data results!
